“And He entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day; that they might accuse him. And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.” Mark 3:1-3As we read this account of the man with the withered hand, the Lord teaches us many principles. How many of us walk around with a withered hand? There is a part of you that has shrunk and withered away and is not useful. You try to hide the hand so people cannot see it, but the Lord sees all. How many times do we try to cope in life with a withered soul? We put on a smile, but inside we are withering away. Jesus sees our withered hand.
Even though Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking He could not stop himself from healing. This account teaches us about the character of Jesus. Jesus wants to heal. Jesus cannot walk past our withered parts and not stop to heal. His character is healing and He wants to heal us. The only thing He wants us to do is to ‘Stand forth.’ To receive victory, we have to acknowledge.
Here are a few withered parts where the Lord wants to heal us:
- Firstly, he wants to give healing over our thought patterns. Our biggest struggle is in our minds. Jesus wants to heal us of our thought patterns that are not in line with His will and plan. There is a life of full abundance and peace waiting for us, we just need to acknowledge. If your thought patterns are still stuck in the nature of Adam, stand forth!
- He wants to heal us from sin. If you are withering away under the grip of deliberate sin, there is healing waiting in Jesus. Stand forth!
- The Lord wants us to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. He wants us to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. If your soul feels withered in this part, stand forth!
Jesus wants to heal. That is His character. Victory awaits! You just have to acknowledge you have a withered hand. Stand forth!
