The Author

One evening as we were sitting around the table with my brother’s twins of 6 years old,   I made a comment that they are like Hansel and Gretel and they immediately wanted me to tell them the story.  This got me thinking how much we as people like to hear stories.  We are intrigued and captivated by stories.

The lyrics of “The Story” by Brandi Carlisle explains it so beautifully:

“All of these lines across my face tell you the story of who I am.

But these stories don’t mean anything, when you’ve got no one to tell them to.

It’s true, I was made for you.”

Who is the Author of my story?

The moment I was old enough to start making my own decisions, I started to write my own story.  Along that road I came to a crossroads where I had to decide:  Do I want to continue writing my own story or will I allow the Author of life to write my story from here on.

Author of Life

In Acts 3:15 Peter said to the people:

“You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead.  We are witnesses of this.  By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.  It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him.”

Jesus is the Author of Life.  He has the most beautiful story in mind for me and you, just like he had a story in mind for the lame man.  Through faith the lame man received the story and his story is a testimony of the Author of that story.

A life story is always a testimony of the author of that story.  If you decide to stay the author of your own story, your  story will always reflect your lameness, and inabilities.  When you allow Jesus to be the author your story, the story will testify about the Author.  It will be a story of healing.

My story doesn’t mean anything, if I have no one to tell it to.  Jesus, I was made for You.

This is my story.   I need to tell you about the Author thereof.

When Jesus is the Author of your life, your story will become so beautiful.

That is just what the Name of Jesus does in a story.

Allow Jesus today to be the Author of your life.
