The Senior Youth Camp was a long awaited 3-day winter treat. It started out with an ice breaker of Duster Hockey which all the kids enjoyed. Late nights of praise, worship, bonfires and fellowship followed the days of singing, sport, fun, food and heart touching, relevant ministry.
Liezl treated the campers to an exciting activity where they were blindfolded and had to taste different baking products and then they all made their own malva puddings in groups. The message was that we need all the ingredients to work together to bake a cake and how some taste ugly alone but once mixed and baked, it produces a wonderful end product and that is what the Lord does with us, takes different qualities in us and moulds us and bakes us into something great. They also enjoyed bookmarks and the ‘parable of the popper’: popcorn is made in great heat and when we are under pressure and hardship that is when Jesus is forming us. They all had a chance to write or draw on each other’s unique verse-page too, a very special activity, it really was a full and fun camp.
Amazingly blessed meetings were had all weekend and we were reminded that Jesus Christ died for us and how much he loves us and that we all fall short but if we turn to Jesus He gives us His grace, hearts were touched.
Don’t forget the next Senior Youth Camp, last weekend of the December holidays, not to be missed!

Dis so lekker om tussen mense te wees wat dieselfde glo as jy. Die Bybel sê tog dat ons onsself moet omring met mede gelowiges.
Dit was so sleg om die kamp te verlaat, want elkeen het in my hart kom inkruip sonder dat ‘n mens agter kom. Ek glo dit is omdat Jesus se liefde in almal is en as dit so wonderlik is om deur ander Jesus se liefde te voel en sien dink net hoe wonderlik gaan dit wees om by Hom te wees, want hy IS liefde.
Ek is so hartseer omdat daar mense is wat nie sulke geleenthede het nie, want soos daar op die kamp gesê is en soos een lied ook sê “In the presence of the Lord there is joy”
Hierdie tipe “joy” maak als net soveel beter en verlig als in n mens se lewe. Die wêreld het ook n tipe “joy” waar baie mense “joy” probeer vind, maar dit kan nie vir ons bied wat die heilige “joy” vir ons gee nie.
Ek is net dankbaar vir wat Jesus als in my lewe doen, dit is net genade.
Ek wil net graag sê dat elke een so naby aan Jesus moet wees sodat ons nie sal deel word van die wêreld se “joy” nie, maar naby die Here bly. Die Here wil soveel meer as wat ons kan dink vir ons gee en die tyd raak min, daarom kan ons nie bekostig om joy te kry in die wêreld nie.
