Senior Youth Camp – July 2015

Daneca

“Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”- Psalms 37:24. The youth camp was just another example of how the Lord speaks to you in the midst of storms. For quite a while I have been feeling down in my spiritual life. I’ve been feeling lost, condemned to hell, and feeling forsaken by the Lord. The message at camp was about the grace of God and that he would never leave us. He picks us up no matter how hard we fall, and in every situation he brings about his purpose for your life. The fact that Jesus didn’t leave Peters life at the denial, but welcomed him again with open arms, gives me hope once again. Sometimes God makes you hit rock bottom to realize He is the rock at the bottom. Sometimes you need to face a Goliath in your walk to bring out the David. Uncle Renè shared something in the lines of this, “we need to filter out our minds and allow the Lord to write the story. We need to remove anything that goes against the truth or that allows confusion to arise.” It’s so easy to let the lies of the devil control you. I’ve allowed it for the past 5 months. Even when I felt too far gone for the Lord to save me again, he just kept telling me things even if I didn’t want to listen. “Daneca, just trust me” and “Daneca, I know the plans I have for you, I’ll never leave you”. I pray that as I continue down this road of salvation, that I’ll focus my eyes on Jesus, tune my ears unto his voice alone, resist the devil in the schemes of his lies, and persevere through anything that comes my way. The greatest test of faith is still believing when it seems as if everything is over, when it seems like he’s not there. “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope,”- Romans 5:3-4

Be-on

At this youth  camp we truly were “besides” ourselves with Jesus. At first everybody felt a bit stiff, but God quietly came and stirred our hearts. After the stirring there was no stopping us and the Word of God flowed like a mighty river. God is my inspiration and the meaning in my life and no-one can tell me otherwise. God is good, all the time! Amen! Louis Giglio’s Fruitcake and Ice-cream showed us the power of living out our testimony and not only sharing it. We also overcame our fears with the help of God. This experience has showed me that it isn’t we who reach people through God, but He who reaches people through us.

Warren

We are grateful to our Lord for the blessed time we had at the senior youth camp this past weekend, while the weather was cold our hearts were warmed over and over again by the love of our Lord Jesus.  From the outset of the camp hearts were softened as the Lord began to set the scene for the camp, creating such a liberty amongst the campers to share testimonies and just have fellowship. I know we all left with heavy hearts after such an awesome time together but I also know we left rejoicing, encouraged and as ready vessels to be used of the Lord wherever he may take us until we meet again.
