The Lord Jesus loved little children while he walked here on earth and I have no reason to believe it’s any different now. In fact I know it’s not. The very scripture above tells us, we who are grown up need to become as little children. So what is it about little children the Lord loves so? Well it’s the simplicity with which they believe, they just believe. They don’t ask questions or try reasoning or look for evidence to back up your word, they simply just believe. If you say “jump, I’ll catch you, you won’t fall”, they’ll jump!
Why won’t we jump? Well the person or relationship I trusted in failed me, not once or twice or even three times but over and over and over again! The last part of that verse says we cannot enter heaven unless we become as little children. I think there are many men and women that are so hurt, so hard, that letting go of ideas, reasoning’s, un-forgiveness and bitterness almost seems impossible. You know what really strikes me as I think on these things? I don’t want my children growing up with these issues and immediately my heart cries out to God, “Please Lord, I want to be as a little child and trust you!” You know it’s impossible for God to fail you? Because it’s impossible for Him to lie! We can wholeheartedly trust Him with every fiber of our being! Don’t you want that for your children?
I do!
